With the RT version you will be restricted to whatever browsers are on the app store. If and when Firefox makes a Surface RT version of the browser you can. Surface Pro is really a computer so yes you can use whatever browser you want. I have Firefox and Chrome on my Pro and they work just as well as on my desktop computer. Think of the Surface RT as an iPad in that you can only install and use applications that are made for it. RT is the same way, but instead of using the Apple app store, you are using Microsoft's version.
