• If it runs on Windows 8, it will run on the Surface Pro 3

• Microsoft has a real easy system for converting Microsoft works files to a modern format. It says it works for 6-9.

• The Microsoft Compatibility Center website states that Works "is compatible" with Windows 8. Therefore it should work fine on the Surface Pro 3 although touch based gestures might not be ideal as using the touchpad.

• With the Surface Pro 3, you will be able to install any program that can be installed on a windows desktop. So, you should have no problem installing Works.
