• The i7 is the most powerful of the 3 processor choices then the i5. The i5 and i7 use more power and have fans built into the Surface Pro device for cooling. The m3 processor uses less power and does not need a fan for cooling so the Surface Pro is silent.

• It really depends on your use case. M3 are fan less and they are most suitable for a standard use such as using browser, mail app, Office etc, I personally prefer this version, since its an ultra quiet configuration, though it does get heated a little bit if you are pushing this configuration too hard to do too many things, otherwise M3 is a great configuration. Clearly, Core i5 and Core i7 are primarily targeted to the audience that require some performance intensive apps such as programming, artists etc.
