I did the free Win 10 install over Win 7. I had problems. A clean install is the way to go. But I have a feeling in time with updates to the Win 10 you may lose the use of some older programs. I couldn't get Nero 6 to load but Nero 8 would. I lost use of a program that had just come out about a year ago (Window cleaner). After the major Win 10 update it just went out and uninstalled the program and it proudly informed me of it's action. I recently built a new i5 system that is currently running fine on win10. I also use a spare older computer where I went back to Win 7. I think you take the good with the bad.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As long as dell officially supports the windows 10 upgrade for your particular machine then go ahead and keep it. If not I recommend going back to windows 7 since you are already experiencing issues. Windows 10 is still not a fully finished product. If you feel confident enough in your abilities, do the clean install for windows 10. If you are still experiencing issues go back to windows 7 and stay there. I've done windows 10 upgrades on machines that were not officially supported but for most people this is not a good idea.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.A lot of older pcs built in mics are outdated and aren't compatible with cortana. Which brings me to Windows 10 don't install it onto an old computer for the same issue, compatibility. An older pcs system is not build to handle those future generations some can but I wouldn't do it with an older pc.
