Windows 10 is an operating system. That tells the computer how to be a computer. Microsoft Office is a program suite. A program is used on a computer, to do a specific action, ie: MS Word, part of MS Office, is a word processing program. This program runs on Windows operating system.

The templates they have are endless for everything from writing letters or even just making a list of Dvd's like I did for the boxes and boxes of movies we own. What is available in office is not available on Windows 10 in that Windows is an operating system. Office is like putting an app in your computer to make you computer do the things you want to do. I always have office in my computer so I can use it when I need it. Go online and check out what Office can do, and what different programs are in it. It even includes a free email service called Outlook that is excellent.

Office is for "clerical" stuff. Excell, Word, Power Point, those kind of things, that you can actually need in your personal life but not necessary for a computer at all.. So Office is not essential at all. I assume you are trolling but anyway.

The office version has a few programs related to office features which help if you work from home. There's not much difference between them for regular Pc stuff but if you have to do work from home because of your job then that's the one to choose. I can do anything I need with Win 10, lots of new features available--most of them are free to install. Whole lot better then that weird Windows 8 which was horrible to use. Good Luck, God Bless.
