- Answer It will, but there are other options than overwriting the Operating system. You can use the upgrade option that will keep all your files, but still it will over write the operating system you currently have installed. There are other options to use if you currently have a windows 10 machine and just need to repair the operating system. Like Dism, and sfc. Also checkdisk. Depending on your needs, but all of those tools are free to use and can be googled.

QuestionWhat happens if the USB inside breaks couple years down the road? Will I be able to just put the key into any windows to activate the license on it? How easy will it be to transfer the windows license to another computer. (let's say I bought a new SSD)?

- Answer If the USB breaks you are out of luck either way. You cannot do a reinstall with or without the key unless you have a working USB stick. The only Windows and license that will transfer to another computer is the full retail version (the $140 version - NOT the $100 version)

- Answer I just used it on my Alien (also a Dell). I installed an SSD as drive0 after removing original HD, changed BIOS boot device to USB, installed, changed BIOS boot device back to drive0 and voila! Installed my original HD as drive1 and can access all old files.

- Answer Windows 10 Home and Pro are two different animals. The license is unique to each copy. If you want to keep running Pro, you need a license for Pro.
