• Our tv is not 4K and the Xbox one is just fine. We watch tv, movies and play games. Everything works perfectly and it’s gorgeous to watch and play and my tv is not 4K

• No you do not need a 4K tv to use this a standard hdmi works as well

• You don't need it. But you won't be able to use the 4K function for movies. It will be regular HD definition instead. If you don't care about 4K, go with the cheaper XBOX One. The S is perfect for people that want to see 4K movies (with a UHD 4K tv), but don't need it for 4K games (you'll need the X for games).
