• An active Xbox Live Gold subscription is required for online multiplayer, however many games may be played without one.

• I believe so. I bought the Xbox as a Christmas present for a friend in Mexico. I will give it to him when I get there on December 29. I am not a gamer myself but it is what he asked for.

• Yes you can download a game without Xbox gold, you just can’t play multiplayer
