I just bought the 2 TB USB drive. This not only solved my immediate need for space against my 500G drive, but I will be able to plug it into the X once it is out. After 3TB is full I can always get another drive. At the time of this writing it is on sale.

Launch Day boxes (both Scorpio and Standard) both ship with 1TB, which is woefully inadequate I agree, but they had to keep that $499 price point... Invest in a Western Digital 4TB MyBook drive and be done with the problem (should be $100 on sale... if not, wait a few weeks, it will be). You can add up to Two External Drives.

Currently, only a 1TB option is available for the Xbox One X. Like the other members of the Xbox One family of consoles, however, you can use external storage to increase its total capacity.
