A:AnswerNo, you can still play it as the game comes with the console. It's just that after the Gold Pass expires, you will not be able to play it online (offline gaming is still possible).

A:AnswerIt does come with an extra controller! I believe there is an option when purchasing online to add it. I had missed this step and was able to take it back to my local Best Buy where they reprocessed my purchase and gave me my extra controller.
