I bought in to the “totaltech” just to try get this console. First I called and I was told totaltech members will get first dibs online…so I bought the totaltech 11/14. Once a member I checked in with the totaltech chat service 24/7 leading up to the release. I don’t recall how many reps I chatted with but they all reassured me that I will receive an email/text regarding this console. I was getting anxious because the only email I got was about the ps5 and the switch oled (1:00am Hawaii time). This was when the site updated from “coming soon” to “in store only”. So I got back on the chat again and inquired about it again. I got a different rep and she reassured me again to wait for the email and/or text…this was approximately 3:00am Hawaii time. At about 4:00am I got onto the chat again to follow up because I still didn’t receive an email/text. This time the rep told me the console WILL NOT BE ONLINE and will be truly IN STORE ONLY. I WAS FUMED!!! So I asked, “will there be a separate line for totaltech members?? She said no…it will be first come first served. I was like, this island is over populated and there’s only one store on island with it. AND how is totaltech members benefiting from this restock??? She had no answer…she was apologizing…I told her, your apology isn’t going to make a link magically appear for me to purchase this console. I thought my chances were slim to none in securing the console. Misinformation galore…I think I might’ve made her cry. I have the chat transcript. 5:00am, I got ready and went to Best Buy to stand in line for a ticket. That was the ONLY way. I was the 60th person inline…with more people coming. Ticket was only good till 10:00am. Had I waited for the email/text…I wouldn’t have scored a console. No exclusivity, $200 for nothing. And as far as the Ps5…kept saying “coming soon” then straight to “sold out”….no matter which package you choose. Such a flop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.
