QuestionIs FRS 2 way frequencie the same thing as GMRS 2 way in other words are they the same THING

- Answer They are sort of the same thing. You really cannot buy FRS radios any more. GMRS radios, however, also work on FRS frequencies. There are seven FRS channels, and modern GMRS radios cover those frequencies, but at FRS power limits (1/2 watt). There are seven channels that are shared between FRS and GMRS, but you need a GMRS license to use high power. There are seven channels that are GMRS only. FRS and GMRS radios can talk to each other as long as the GMRS radios only use FRS frequencies -- plus the numbers on the display might be different. Wikipedia has a nice summary of GMRS -- just search. I hope this helps.

- Answer I don't think so. These radios use a frequency allocation from the FCC for use in the US. This is not an international allocation. I could be wrong.

- Answer They put out 2.8 watts and they do require a license to legally operate them on channels that are not FRS.

- Answer Yes. As many that are in range operating on the same channel will work. We had 4 going during a car trip. One radio in each of the four cars.

- Answer About 4" tall, and 2 1/4" at the widest point. The antenna adds about another 2" on top. Hope this helps!

- Answer Modern electronics including the Midland X-TALKER radios generally have circuits to prevent overcharging. It's usually safe to leave them charging overnight, but to extend battery life, it's best to unplug the device once fully charged.

- Answer Yes, you must register with the FCC and obtain a license if you plan to use GMRS channels, which are included with some models of Midland X-TALKER radios. This is not required for FRS channels only.

- Answer As far as I know these radios are compatible with the T70 series. This is because they both use the same FRS/GMRS frequencies, so you can easily add these radios to your existing set of T70 models for expanded communication options.
