The charge port is one of those specialized round pin-type ones, but it definitely charges by house outlet (I've never tried car, because as I said, specialized charge port... Although if you hooked up an outlet adapter to the car's 12v, you could plug in the normal wall adapter that comes with the speaker.... it could work. I can't say definitely, but it could.)
