Yes, it will work sitting on a table. I have mine sitting on the tv stand just behind the tv and it works very well.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This works either way on the wall or on the stand that comes with it. I prefer the stand. You can place it where you want and where it picks up the best reception. It even comes with 2 connector cables if you need to extend it farther from the tv. I got fair reception when I placed it on the tv stand, but better reception when I moved the antenna closer to the window. I've even stood it vertically against the wall and seemed to pick up a few more channels (?) ... I've had mine for about a month and am happy with it. Keep in mind if you're going to use the stand, the Mohu beam is about 18" - 24" long (check the specs on best buy to get exact measurements)... it looks like a sound bar. Is quite stylish looking.
