• the boom use to have an app for that, but for over a year they discontibued that app, i use to use the app in 2013, but almost a year ago dissapear. maybe u can find another app.

• If you have an Android then with this Motorola Boom you can just use your Google commands to make calls, and send text messages through your Bluetooth. That's what I do with my Boom. It does not read you incoming text messages, but the Q series BlueAnt Bluetooths do that, and more. I hope this helps you out.
