Not entirely, you will need a router as well. What you have from Comcast is a modem/router combo. A modem brings the internet to your residence. A router then disperses the internet to all your devices. The box you have from Comcast does both. You will need this modem as well as a router to replace the Comcast box you rent. I recently replaced my rented Comcast modem/router with this modem and the router I linked below (good performance, low price). They were easy to set up as well. Getting your own modem and your own router will save you money in the end and you'll have better internet performance. Hope this helps!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This is a modem, and not a router. So, it will replace a modem that you rent from Comcast - and, yes, you should stop renting a modem from Comcast - but if you need a router also, this won't be that. A router will have antennas on it, and is what you need if you want wifi in the house. I've added a recommendation for a router below - that's what I'm using in connection with the modem, and it works great. If your space is big, you may need more equipment also, but the modem and the router will get you started.
