A:AnswerTom,
This modem doesn't have a router built into it, an ethernet cable is required for connection. I think what your looking for is a router which would give you a wireless connection.
A:AnswerYes you plug the electrical cord into the wall outlet, then you connect ur cable connection to it. The ethernet cable is to connect to you device (laptop, PS4,PS5, Etc)
A:AnswerWe updated to this cable modem because it is DOCSIS 3.0 compliant and fairly inexpensive, and because my experience with Netgear has been good. I don't foresee that our local cable provider will offer speeds better than 100 mbps anytime soon, so this was a good choice for me. There are similar modems capable of higher speeds if your provider offers the very high speeds. They cost somewhere in the range of $150 to $200, and may be worth it if your broadband usage is high.
A:AnswerShort answer is yes. I doubt you will ever see 300mps, but it will not be your equipments fault. Comcast may send out 300mps but by the time it gets to you it will probably be half that.
A:AnswerYes but this unit does not have dedicated phone service for home phone, If your looking for internet and home phone service this will not work.
