“Why cant this phone be used with CDMA carriers such as sprint or boost mobile? I currently have a motorola moto g 1st gen and its on boost mobile service and I love it I want to upgrade to the new 2nd gen moto g with the 5in screen so why is the 2nd gen phone not compatible with CDMA carriers?”

Not all 1st generation Moto Gs are compatible with CDMA carriers, either -- only ones specifically made for that purpose. Only GSM Moto G 2nd generation devices are available at this time.
