It should work as it is stated on Consumer Cellular that they use SIM cards which is a GSM type of cell network compared to CDMA (Verizon). You will have to make sure they give you the correct size sim, there are 3 sizes , Mini, Micro and Nano. I believe the phone uses Micro but do make sure!

-From a home screen, tap Apps Apps icon (located at the bottom).
-From the Apps tab, tap Settings.
-From the Wireless & Networks section, tap More.
-Tap Tethering & portable hotspot.
-Tap Set up Wi-Fi hotspot.
A:AnswerSounds like an issue with permissions. Possible that one of these apps are adjusting the audio settings. When you processed a factory data reset on the phone and brought your apps back, it most likely has the same issue. I would recommend going to your apps and changing the permissions.
