A:Answer Actually, this is a very good question. Last Fall this phone was touted to be one of those to receive the Nougat update. It's continually on the lists of Motorola phones which are to receive the update to 7.1. When I got mine last January it was said that the update would be coming any week now, which is one of the primary reasons I bought this phone instead of another. After several months without an update the word from Motorola was that the update would be coming in June. It's August now, and no update. It's shameful that Motorola would be either so extremely slow or deceitful. Don't buy Motorola if you are expecting to be kept relatively current -- or if you're prone to believe what manufacturers say.
