If you purchase an unlocked Moto G7, you should be able to use either standard. Tracfone's SIM kit for unlocked phones contains SIM cards for both GSM and CDMA carriers. I personally used Tracfone's kit to connect my Moto to Verizon's CDMA network. As to your question about calling on a Wi-Fi network, I'm pretty sure that you can't do this on a Tracfone. You may want to see if other providers have this service.
