(Adding to answer by md2572.). Google Fi mobile network service also works via Wi-Fi*. It can automatically switch/select the available network with best signal/quality. Between the supported 3 cellular networks (T-Mobile (GSM), Sprint (CDMA), US Cellular (?)), & Wi-Fi (* access points on their network service). The devices supported/allowed on Fi is limited, especially for full Fi service. Some Moto X4 & Moto G6 editions are included. For more info, check Google Fi, & also trustworthy review/testing/comparison sites.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This Android One edition phone can get Android updates from Google up to Android 9 Pie, & end of life for updates from Google seems to be 2019 this year (since phone released in 2017, & 2 years of updates from Google for Android One). Unknown if any further updates after, including Android Q or later; unlikely. I haven't heard of Motorola F1 Project. Some answers here assumed you meant Project Fi from Google, now named Google Fi (wireless cellular (& Wi-Fi) mobile network carrier/service, MVNO type leased network services). Search online for Google Fi. Go to their official website, & I suggest also look a FAQs.

Project Fi is a service where Google offers pre-paid cell phone service between 3 service providers, Sprint, T-Moble and U.S. Cellular. Which ever is the strongest signal at the time.
