it can be added to an AT&T family plan but I would suggest to do it in the AT&T store.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This phone is unlock. Means any cell company that uses GSM chip cards should work flawless. It doesn't come with bloatwear. As for the cell phone carrier setup. I am sure you can just buy the chip from att and insert the cell chip your self. Or bring the cell phone to the att carrier. I am not sure what carrier they have at bestbuy. I already had TMobile service. So i bought this phone and pop in the new sim card. Don't need to do anything to the cell phone because its unlock phone. Hopefully this helps.

I'm not sure if AT&T will do the set up for you because I set mine up myself before going to them to get a nano SIM which this phone uses. During the set up process, I was given the option of using a feature on the MotoX to transfer my files. Most of them were transferred but my photos are mixed up together and I'm not able to read my documents. Also I could not add my AOL email account. I had to download the AOL app.
