Put it on the payment plan if your a current verizon customer, if you do the contract the smartphone line access is 40 per month, and you have an early term fee if you decide to upgrade before the contract is up. if you want to upgrade early on the device payment you just pay the balance off. The special price BB is offering right now with the free mod cant be beat. Verizon is no where near as close to this promo BB has!

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mike is correct. The big difference is going to be your monthly access fee. If you do the $99 2yr contract, you'll be paying $40/month for the line access. If you do the monthly payment plan, your monthly access will be $20 (or $15 in my case, since I'm on one of the older "More Everything" share data plans that they don't offer anymore.) So, $20 difference x 24 months is $480 that you would need to add to your total two year cost when comparing the 2yr contract plan to the 2yr monthly payment plan. There's no free lunch. Depending on what deals are being offered, the contract or the payment plan could be the better deal. You'll just have to run the numbers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I felt the same way when I saw the advertisement. The purchase of the phone for $99, with a two year contract and a $40 upgrade fee was all I was required to pay. The $40 upgrade fee is added to you next phone bill. Unlike other phone purchases where you have to pay up to $30 a month (for the phone) plus the plan cost, once you pay the $99 you only have to pay for your plan. The total savings was $720 because you get the Mod Speaker for free! I say check with Verizon about your plan before you make the purchase, just to make sure your plan does not have to be change. I spoke with a Verizon representative before the purchase and he informed me that if I changed my plan to the New Verizon plan I would end up paying $20 more per month. I have a very very old plan!! I made sure the the Best Buy representative did NOT change the plan.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I feel the only hidden fee is the insurance requirement. I am paying $11.00 per month for 100%, total coverage, yet a $149.00 deductable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There aren't any hidden fees, but you have to pay taxes on the full cost of the phone (at least in California), so it ends up being closer to 200. That's still way better than buying directly from Verizon.
