“I just bought mine and the parental unit will go black with sounds, but if I hit a button it comes back on. Can I keep it from doing that?”

Hello Katie, Please know that it is a normal behaviour. It means the parent unit goes into eco mode for the battery to last longer. You can set the screen off time for the Parent Unit after it is in idle mode for a specific time interval (5 mins, 15 mins or 30 mins). You can change it in the menu options.
