No, but because it has a built in clock/timer you can preset a time to start your brewing. The brewing cycle takes about 8 minutes for a full carafe and the unit will beep when completed. It will also keep a minute by minute countdown for the next 2 hours so you know when the last brew was made.

You wouldn't be able to start the pot with a smart plug. A smart plug just turns on the electricity. You would still have to turn the pot on.
