“I had my mechanic hardwire my dashcam to a fuse. When I start my car, I can't tell if the camera is turning on or not - there's no picture unless I push a button. It stays on for a minute or so and then goes black. Is this normal? Is it working?”

Hi RebMil, It sounds like the motion detection mode is turned on, with this feature there is a Screensaver tied into the feature so after a certain amount of time passes the screen will go blank but the dashcam will still be recording in the background.
