• Yes, you can connect the Nest Wifi router to your Optimum router but you may need to put your modem/router combo into bridge mode or disable its Wi-Fi functionality in order to set up Nest Wifi router as your primary router, and create a mesh Wi-Fi system throughout your home.

• The phone line is connected to your Optimum modem, not the router. I have the same set-up. This mesh router would replace your existing router and plug directly into your Optimum modem. It does not affect your landline at all.
