Absolutely, this switch gives each port 1000Mbit. You could run 8 computers through this switch and all be able to connect fine with very minimal lag.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.It's not so much your switch as it is your bandwidth and router. Downloading a lot, such as torrents uses all your bandwidth. Having multiple devices on the network taxes your router. The only thing the switch does is split the signal from the router to more devices on your network. It has nothing to do with what you are downloading or what games you play. However, if you have a cheap router, you might face issues. Also, if you have low bandwidth internet service like ATT, then you might also face issues. Best thing to do is cap your download and upload rates to give yourself the bandwidth you need for your other devices.

Please try again later.Given my usage of it with multiple connections all at once to effectively expand the amount of ports on my router, this device should hold up just find for what you are describing. As long as the rest of your internet equipment setup can handle your situation, this switch will be no problem.
