A:AnswerAbsolutely, this switch gives each port 1000Mbit. You could run 8 computers through this switch and all be able to connect fine with very minimal lag.
A:AnswerNo, you can not mount this in the attic. The operating Temperature of this device is 32deg F to 104 deg F. It will be too hot for this device in the summer. It will be too cold for this device in the winter. There should be plenty of places to mount this device. A closet. Under a dresser. Under a bed. In the basement. Use your imagination.
A:AnswerTar, No, this is not a cable modem. This is a switch that goes behind your router to give you additional ports
For a cable modem, I have the NETGEAR Nighthawk, DOCSIS 3.1 and am very happy with it
A:AnswerNo. This is just a switch for splitting your landline connections. If your WiFi is really bad check your speeds on your land based connection using speedtest.net. If you have good speeds on your land based line you will need a new wireless router. I am using Ubiquity products at my home and office. They are extremely reliable and easy to install.
A:AnswerThat should work - but guessing your powerline adapter does not support Gigabit Ethernet speeds, so could be cheaper to go with a cheaper switch that only supports 10/100 Megabit speeds but that would presumably cost less too.
