Do't know much about modem. We do have Motorola modem. Purchased this router to replace our 10 years old Netgear router that decided to stop working. We picked this one because of the price and it's dual band compatible with 5G if we have 5G one day. It works good in our 3 bedroom apartment with 2 TVs and 2 tablets.
