You should definitely get out of that equipment rental. I purchased this router a month ago and have not had any issues. My nephew plays online games, while I watch streaming movies and I don't have any buffering issues.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Comcast has likely given you a combination cable modem/wireless router. This is a wifi router and would need to be attached to a cable modem. I'd suggest you reach out to Comcast and get a list of compatible cable modems. You'll need to purchase a Comcast compatible cable modem (there are many) and have tech support register the modem for their network. Then you could attach this router to that cable modem and you'd be all set. The combination of this router and a Comcast compatible cable modem should be less than $150. After that, you won't have to pay rental fees for Comcast equipment. This advice may or may not apply to service in your area. You should contact Comcast tech support to confirm.
