- Answer Often fiber optic providers fail to upgrade the cable conecting their equipment to the router in your home. If the cable inside your home that comes from their fiber optics equipment and connects to the router is the old coaxial cable they have always screwed onto your router then you will never recieve the speed that fiber optics can provide. What's the point of running fiber optics to a home if once it reaches the home it connects to the same old coaxial cable that's always been connected to your router? Think about it for a moment. It's like connecting a fire hose to a garden hose. I made Verizon upgrade the cable to my router and told my neighbors about it. Not long afterwards they sold the whole area to Frontier.

- Answer It can be placed in bridge mode if the Xfinity equipment provides wi-fi. I would suggest a wireless repeater if you don't need a router.

- Answer The router gives you the ability to connect multiple devices (computer, phones, printer, copiers, tablets, tv's) to the internet using one input into your home, using wifi and/or the ethernet /usb ports on the router. So, yes for the AC 1600 to function as intended.

- Answer It should work with any internet connection. It's "top" speed it 1.2Gb on wifi and 1Gb wired, so as long as your internet connection isn't faster than that it should be fine. If you have faster internet then it'll still work but won't use the full bandwidth of your internet connection.

- Answer Can't say for sure but they do have extenders to help with the signal if you need to. My next door neighbor needed internet service and they loged on to the old netgear I had so that something to think about range of signal. I think it's a try thing plus Best Buy will take it back with in so many days.

QuestionI am switching internet service. I need a router that will work in a 2600 square feet home. Vivint home security and dish network. And smartphones no gaming do use laptop. Which router will work best for us. And not spend a great deal of money.

- Answer If the new Nintendo game unit can connect to Wi-fi, I would think so as long as you have the router password and SSID. I have not personally connected a game console to mine, so I am not 100 percent sure. I did connect a Samsung Smart TV recently to a network and was surprised how easy it was as long as you have the passwords to connect.

- Answer This router supports NAT ( just about all of the wifi routers do now ). Are you looking for standard NAT or 1 to 1 NAT? 1 to 1 is somewhat uncommon for home use.

- Answer This router will handle download speeds up to 900 mbps, so if you have a fast connection with a current slow router it should speed you up.

- Answer Its just a router and doesnt have DSL phone connection. If you already have a dsl modem and want to connect this router to it then yes it will work.
