Yes you can...I too was annoyed by all the notifications. Very easy to turn off motion detection and you can do it for each individual camera!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. You can actually stop the battery operated cameras while keeping the wired cameras active if you'd like so keep that in mind when placing them. Also the 2 wired cameras have an option to direct the motion to a certain spot e.g up high to avoid the pets. The 4 battery powered cameras however do not have this option.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can arm the cameras through the mobile app and website whenever you want. You can also set up a schedule to detect and record video at certain times of the day. There is also IFTTT integration so that you can create recipes for more sophisticated rules for when to turn on detection. More info: https://ifttt.com/arlo
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have lots of little kids. You can make a schedule for each camera to turn on or off as needed. I just usually just manually turn them on or off with my phone. When I leave the house, I turn on the inside cameras. The outdoor cameras are always on. When I know I am about to have a ton of guests arrive, I turn off the driveway camera once they start arriving to prevent my notices from blowing up my phone. It is so easy to tap a button on your phone to turn them on or off as needed.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can turn motion detection on and off at any point. You can also turn notifications on/off at any point (so, i.e. you could leave sensing/recording on, but not be notified). You can also schedule the cameras to be armed/disarmed at a certain time, and there's also a geo sensing feature (I haven't used) that I think will turn motion sensing on/off based on your location.
