A:AnswerThe cameras must directly interact with the Base. The "Smart" features are actually in the Base. I am finding much greater distance than the quoted distance of the Ultra camera rom the Base. The base plugs into the router via Ethernet, so the Wireless Router distance to the camera does not matter.

A:AnswerYou can only use them in a vacant lot if they can reach the Hub that comes with them. The Hub connects to the internet via an Ethernet cable (included). So you would need the Hub plugged into the Internet to wirelessly reach the camera.
