There are two main types of internet. DSL, which is used by old school phone companies like Att, and cable internet which is used by Time Warner, Comcast Xfinity, and a slew of smaller regional CABLE companies. This model is specifically designed to with the phone lines that the old style land lines used in the day, and some companies like ATT still use. YOU needed a DOCSIS modem, NOT a DSL modem. Most cable internet providers give you an exact list of the modems that work with their setup. I suggest you check with your internet provide for a list of approved modems so you can avoid confusion
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Cable and DSL are totally different technologies. If you have cable internet you need a cable modem. DSL internet needs a DSL modem
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. As explained to me when I subscribed to my DSL internet...DSL is a different type of transmission from a CABLE internet transmission. DSL comes through the phone line, not through the coaxial cable. Apparently this modem just doesn't speak the same language as a cable modem. ISP told me to make sure I purchased a router/modem that specified DSL, since my service would not work with a cable modem. Also, Best Buy sales associate saw that I was purchasing a DSL product & verified that I did not have a cable internet service, since they are not compatible.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I don't think it was designed to use with a cable modem, it has a built in cable modem so you don't need another one, just use this for modem and router.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because it already has a DSL modem built in , you do not need a modem router combination what you simply need is just a wireless router
