“I am not able to see the Netgear_Ext wifi to do the set up. I did not find a solution online. The netgear trouble shooting page says to get an ethernet cable and set up via PC but seems like my version only works with APP set up.”

Yes its a pain. The old extender models shows "_ext" when trying to connect but this model grabs your existing wifi name and just coat tails it. So if the extender goes out I really dont know it until I check the signal strength. I much prefer the _ext to differentiate. I hope Netgear makes a note on this. I still use my old one for upstairs and titled it "_extup"
