Q: QuestionDo you have to connect a telephone line to this extender?(1 answer)
A: AnswerNo need for a phone line. It will connect directly to your router/modem. You will need the Netgeat Nighthawk app to complete the connection process. I'm far from being a techy but it was really easy to install.Answered by Batman65

- A: AnswerYes its a pain. The old extender models shows "_ext" when trying to connect but this model grabs your existing wifi name and just coat tails it. So if the extender goes out I really dont know it until I check the signal strength. I much prefer the _ext to differentiate. I hope Netgear makes a note on this. I still use my old one for upstairs and titled it "_extup"

Good Product, Support App Isn’t So Great
For signal strength and streaming speed, this product is great! What’s not so great is the functionality of the support app, “Nighthawk.” The type-in boxes for logging into the Nighthawk app are flawed and don’t display what you’re typing, that’s if you can even get your keypad to activate when you click within the login boxes. Phone support for this product is of third-world quality, with heavy language accents and poor phone connections.
