• This isn’t a modem, it’s a WiFi extender. If you have poor signal in parts of your home that are farther away from your router than this will help extend the WiFi signal.

• I don't know much about electronic stuff but my son does. I was having an awful time with my internet going out and it was very slow when I did. My son ordered this for me and I couldn't be happier with it. Its much faster and hasn't been out since I've had it.

• No, This is NOT a modem. This is an extender.... -- it extends the signal to an area that was previously getting poor signal strength. But the speed of you line depends on your modem and internet provider.
