“Would a power line adapter also be beneficial in addition to this? We have wifi dead zones in our house. We have a single story home, 2000 sq ft, on 1 acre. The family room and back office are weak wifi signals. Even though family room is adjacent to room where router is located, it typically gets only one bar. I can't utilize iPad / iPhone functionality or AV receiver / smart TV capability, such as streaming movies. I am looking at getting this product as well as Netgear Powerline 1200 GB adapter, Model: PL1200-100PAS, to connect to the AV receiver. Would both products be needed?”

Iron Chick, That sounds about right, except I don't think you'll need the Powerline adapter if it can get the extended signal. However, if Ethernet is all it can use (as opposed to wireless), then you WOULD need the Powerline equipment. You just need to know that Powerline devices require that both outlets you plug them into be on the same circuit panel.
