A:AnswerThis modem is a phone modem not cable modem. I believe xfinity requires a cable modem. Router would work but you would need a cable modem to connect.
A:AnswerAny router/modem will only accept the speed of your connection. If your connection is limited to 6, nothing will go faster. If you think there is a bottleneck, there is a SLIGHT possibility that some setting can be adjusted to prevent packet fragmentation. Adjusting the MTU setting might help. If you google MTU setting, you will find some tests that may help you adjust this. But bottom line, if you are getting data through a straw, no matter how big a hose you attach to the straw, you are limited by the size of the straw. You can always look for a faster provider.
A:AnswerI'm not familiar with Penn Tele Data, but I can tell you that the device works with Frontier DSL (which is hardly state of the art service). I can't say that my wifi is any faster with this device, but it is more stable. With the Frontier-provided gateway, I was having to reset the gateway multiple times a day, especially if we were trying to stream video. I bought the NETGEAR D7000 AC1900 VDSL/ADSL GATEWAY about a month ago and have had to reset it once. For my family, that alone has been worth the price of the device.
A:AnswerNo, this does not support Dual Bonded pairs. There are some people running 40Mbps on a single line and others need dual bonded to get that speed. This modem does not support dual bonded pares.
A:AnswerI would say this does not work with fiber optic as that is a different technology (especially if your wifi is fios). This modemrouter is for DSL phone line. And cable would be different also.
