• No it cant be used alone you have to have a router also

• I have not used the one you mentioned, but I use this to replace my old t-mobile wifi router. It's a really good router. Range is great. The only problem i have ran into was my 1st generation chromecast doest seem to work with wifi 6, so I changed it to regular wifi.
