Does this router have to be connected to a computer? null

No.. Just go from your modem straight into this and setup with the app makes it super easy

No it’s wifi and the setup is done through an app on your cell phone.

I have the router connected to the modem and my desktop is wireless. I am using Spectrum with Docs 3.1 modem.

This router has to be connected to your cable modem to receive its Internet signal. You can hook up your computer with an Ethernet cable if you choose to, but not required. I set up mine with an iPad mini wirelessly using the recommended app in the instructions.
