If you have a USB external drive, you can connect it to this router and use it as a makeshift NAS, although the performance and features will not be as good as a dedicated NAS enclosure. And yes, you can connect a printer to the USB port and use the router as a sort of print server. If your printer has an ethernet port, that might be a better way to attach it to the router.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.No. The USB port can only be used for flash drives and external hard drives. Also you have to turn on the Ready share on the router for it to work. It just shares the that to all your devices.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Good question for the Tech at Best Buy. The Home Theater Tech was great in helping us with our devices. It took us 3 trials to get equipment that would work in our space. That wasn't the fault of the Tech, nor the products we bought. It was our home, which turned out to have angles and barriers with which we had to contend. I don't know why the Nighthawk wouldn't work with any other devices, given the right set-up. If you have the space or configuration to allow for various devices in the same area, it should work well. The Nighthawk has been good for us, in our home.
