I would NOT run a setup that way. The EAX80 does have a GUI to sign in setup like a router but it has the aim to be an extender to your current setup. The day i stopped letting my ISP control my router, all my issues with connection and speeds went away. I have a few steps I own that I love. I have the MK62 and I also have the RAX 200 with the EAX80. I wouldn't change either one of these setups for anything. Technology standard is changing to WiFi6 or AX. So many ISP providers run slow and outdated tech because of the huge cost factor to upgrade.( That is my personal opinion.) Please don't confuse having AX tech as meaning your internet will be faster. HOWEVER, is will make your network run smoother with less drops, coverage areas, and overall performance.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am using the AX6000 as my primary router. It is connected directly to my IPS's modem (no wifi in that modem) and has been working fine for the last couple months.
