I have Comporium that supplies my internet, cable TV and its modem has Wifi on both the 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHZ bands. The Nighthawk Mesh X6S Tri-Band WiFi Mesh Extender picks up both bands and sets them up to have the same SSIDs so no matter if you roam, you go seamlessly to whatever the signal strength is the greatest. You go through a Netgear set up page with your browser. You have to set up an account with Netgear which is free. See the photo below of what it looks like after completion. If you have a signal strength app on your smart phone, you can mover the Nighthawk around to find the best spot for coverage.
