Search your router and extender manuals for WPA. In most home situations you want your network to be configured with WPA, WPA-Personal OR WPA2 security.

You need to set up your security and MAC address filtering on the mesh extender as well. The way you have it setup now, an unauthorized device can enter your network via the mesh extender. The easiest way I found to set this up is to connect the extender directly to your computer via a network cable. Then open a browser and use the setup page for the mesh extender. The copy the same security rules you use on your browser
