QuestionI have an older Nighthawk X6, R8000, AC3200. I've been told I can use this as a Network Extender, but will it also "mesh" as well?. I would like to be able to use the same SSID for both and potentially have "seamless" communication.

- Answer I don't believe so, you need to use the Nighthawk app or the WPS button for set up with your router. I would check with Netgear support to see for sure.

QuestionI have a Netgear AC1200 Model EX6200v2 Extender and a Nighthawk AC2300 Router. I use it mainly for TV to my Roku Ultra but still get dropped connections daily with the current extender. Would I expect the Nighthawk EX8000 to stop these drops?

QuestionI have a Nighthawk Tri band X6 3200 I am trying to get WiFi all the way back to a shed about 150 feet away from the main home. The signal would have to go through three walls? Is this what i need to accomplish my task? If not any suggestions.

- Answer Sorry, I am not familiar with this specific model, but the distance you have described, plus three walls, sounds very iffy to me. I suggest you ask the manufacturer and/or the Geek Squad.

QuestionHave a Nighthawk R8000 and have apparently met max number of simultaneous connections under the 2.4ghz band, about 30ish devices (smarthome devices). With extender, would I be able to connect more devices under 2.4ghz band, or still limited by router?

Questioni have an ac650 extender right now and I am a streamer so I need a good connection. realized that my extender is cheap and now my stream keeps disconnecting even when connected to ethernet from that extender.would a higher ac extender like this one help?

- Answer The netgear nighthawk mesh x65 is probably the best extender out there, the connection doesn’t drop and you get same WiFi speeds , or better speeds than your router itself

- Answer Yes you can. It has two modes of operations. 1. WiFi Extender which connects to you router via WiFi signal, and 2. Access Point which allows you to connect the device to your router via CAT 5 or CAT 6 cable. Here are the instructions that provide the details http://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/EX8000/EX8000_DoMore_EN.pdf Follow the instructions in the beginning titled "Use the Extender in Access Point Mode".

QuestionIm living where I cant have any inernet service installed. Rules don't like em' but rules are rules right? Anyways we are litterally a few steps out of Comcast Xfinity Internet Range From One of their hot spots. Could I use this 4 this to extend that?

- Answer You can connect this extender to the router with one network name. Your previous extender will still use a separate SSID

QuestionI forgot to tell you we live in a hollow in Tullahoma Tn. 37388 and dish is all we can get you might suggest some other way that might be better for us to get the internet better we have asked some internet co. and they say direct can’t do it

- Answer Hi Disgusted, I have a couple of suggestions for better internet first move outta the hollow to a place where you don't always hear dueling banjos in the background. Additionally you can move to Dollywood as Dolly Parton has always provided exceptional internet, since she has a pair of large satellite dishes.

- Answer Honestly doesn’t matter as long as the signal strength is 66 or above where you place the extender it’s should cover a large amount from where you put it from there
