Yes and no it will help with ping slightly but if u have bad ping straight out of modem you need to contact your isp and have them correct the issue I have spectrum and I usually have a averag of 28 ping

Please try again later.It will if the current ping you are getting is with your router in place, it will help with lag if the lag happens when your are further from your modem. But you want to find out what you are getting straight from your modem. Since the router just throws the current signal out, and if you are getting a bad signal in the modem it will only be able to throw bad signal, But if you ping good hard wired into modem this will be a great resolution to the problem.
