- Answer The router doesn’t care what service provider you have. It’s purpose is to distribute your internet throughout all your devices wirelessly or wired. What does matter is the modem you use. The modem is the device that has the coaxial cable connection with a single (usually) Ethernet output. The modem converts the signal from your cable to Ethernet by a process called “modulation” hence the name “modem”. Usually, based on your service provider, you must register the MAC address or physical id of the modem to your service provider. This is how they can tell that they are serving the right person the internet that they paid for. Once you have a proper modem that is supported by your service provider (their website will give you their approved list) and have registered it if needed. You then just connect the modem to your router and you have internet throughout your house as soon as you set up some settings on your router (WiFi passwords, channels, frequency etc. )

- Answer Hi gary yes but your restricted to the preloaded vpn providers on this router. Honestly in my opinion it all depends on what you will be using your vpn for but if your trying to use it for gaming (ex: PS4)I’d say stay away from this router. Streaming movies from other countries expect a lot of buffering. The vpn part of this router makes the connection extremely slow and unreliable at times even on my 1 Gig internet plan, you will get constant error codes from PSN and Netgear can’t fix it and the vpn provider told me this is not a good router for vpn. I was recommended an Asus router.

QuestionIs there an expected replenish date for this item? As no stores within the entire western side of the US have it in stock according to the website. I guess down side of having a large gift card to here.

- Answer It will run at whatever the max speed of your modem is currently. It supports gigabit speeds if your ISP supports it UPGRADE!!

- Answer I bought this router for online gaming, I have 15 different things hooked up to this at one time and have not had a problem. Honestly wish I would of bought it sooner, as for distance I know I have been across my street at the neighbors and was still get excellent signal from this router through walls on so on. Guess it would depend on distance you are looking at, my neighbors house is approximately 300 feet from mine hope this helps.

- Answer Yes. One problem I had was that the walls in my 1440sf home limited previous routers to cover only 50% of the home. Now everything can access this one router. Very fast, very powerful.

- Answer You do not have to use the 5G. There is an option in the settings to just use the 2.4G. As far as a modem, I would highly suggest you go to or call your internet service provider for a list of compatible modem's. They have a list of specific models based on the speeds your running. (This list includes aftermarket models). Netgear makes some pretty decent wifi extenders and you can usually find them on sale. They can usually run both 5G and/or 2.4G. Once again just adjust in the settings.

- Answer It works very well with a spectrum WiFi router with simple setup instructions. One note though is to still every now and then is to reset the WiFi router by either unplugging the spectrum WiFi router or use the my spectrum app. After you setup your new NETGEAR router, if you have other accessories setup under the spectrum WiFi router, you need to reset up all of your other accessories or devices to work with your new NETGEAR router. Have fun playing your games, updates and streaming videos with little notice for your up/down speeds as your data flows quickly.

- Answer It depends on how fast your internet service. If your internet service is fast than it worked really well. For exam if your internet service is 100mb per second it should be fine using wi-fi or wire If 5 or more people are using the internet at the same.
